Showmaster Bareback Pad

I came across this by chance and I wonder how similar it is to the Christ Lamfelle pad. Does anyone have one?

It’s described as a Sheepskin leisure saddle using real Sheepskin, it can be adjusted using pad inserts and comes with stirrup options. It has dressage length billets, knee rolls and D rings.

I will say it again for any newcomer, please don’t use the stirrups. I know you may see people riding in pads like these, but I am not convinced they would still be on board if my mare spun. I wouldn’t take this xc or sj, why because it’s going to slip.

  1. Hi, i bought an identical bareback pad to the ‘ShowMaster’ from Engel (http://www.engel-reitsport.de/fellsattel-lammfell.php) with a view to stocking them, but was very disappointed with the manufacturing quality. The sheepskin is lovely, but the finish is dreadful, with large loose stitching and cobbled together sheepskin on the curve of the cantle. The shims are very poor and give no protection to the horses back. The girth straps are nylon and i would be dubious as to how long they would last. I will send photos if you can give me a link to send to. I own Horse Dream UK and think ‘Engel’ is a cheap copy of the Christ Lammfelle pads (actually not so cheap when you realise what you are getting!). I believe that Show Master is produced by Engel but sold under a different name. Take a look at the Engel website and see what you think??
